It’s All About The T-Shirt!

The Under 16 Girls competitive soccer team from Galt, The County Line Heat, took top honors at the “Skunk 2 Spookfest” soccer tournament in Fort Bragg over the weekend. Winning the tournament was not an easy task for the ladies from Galt as they tied their first game Saturday morning against the River City Rampage 2-2, before refocusing to take a commanding 4-0 victory against the Ukiah Pirates that afternoon. In an exciting well-contested match against the Santa Cruz side on Sunday morning, the Heat emerged with the 2-1 result that saw them as the top points earner in their flight and overall in the 9 team field as well. In the Championship game against the Gold Country (Grass Valley) Cyber Rays, the Galt girls really demonstrated the character of their team with a well balanced attack and a stifling defense that earned them a comfortable 2-0 victory. This latest win gives the Heat an overall 20-2-2 (W-L-T) record this season. The team wishes to thank the nice Galt folks from the County Line Rebels U14 and U19 and Heat U12 teams for their support during the tournament.
